City Plans for New Storm Shelter

City plans for increased storm shelter capacity are under way!

With increasing severe weather incidents and more demand for storm shelter space, the City is moving forward with plans to build a new storm shelter. The new building will be located on the same site as the current City Hall, 4555 Jackson Street NE. The new 6000-foot building will triple the storm shelter capacity of the existing City Hall building.

The City is applying for State and Federal funding, plus other possible grant sources.
